- Over-the-Top Roofing
A very popular roofing system in the midwest, over-the-top roofing offers great protection at a reasonable cost. Another layer of shingles can be added to one layer of shingles already on the roof. Upon inspection, Advanced Roofing Specialists will make recommendations regarding the correct materials and techniques for your roofing project, or work according to architectural plans.
- Rubber Roofing or Flat Roofing
As the name implies, a single piece of rubber will be used to cover your flat roof. The membrane is EPDM, an elastomeric rubber roofing membrane, and it will be adhered in one of two ways:
1. Fully-adhered glue will firmly secure the membrane to the substrate.
2. Mechanically attached system-special fastening plates are placed in various patterns based on building height, deck type, and building usage.
Advanced Roofing Specialists is trained in a large variety of flat roofing systems. The most common flat roof is EPDM (rubber). Our professional applicators are trained and constantly updated with new application procedures and products.
- Re-Roofing
Advanced Roofing Specialists will completely remove and dispose of all old roofing. We will then apply a 15 lb. extra-waterproofing felt. Then we apply new metal in all the valleys, and around the entire roof. We then apply the shingles, a ridge vent, and cap the ridge vent.
During the process, your roof will be watertight at all times. Even if there are no shingles on the roof, we guarantee there will be no leaks even when we are in the process of replacing your roof.
Your home will be left the same way it was before we started the project. All the ground will be cleaned, all the debris will be picked up, and all the extra materials will be removed. Not a single nail or scrap will be left behind.
Asphalt shingles are by far the most popular roofing system; they are installed on about 80% of all homes. There are a wide range of styles and colors to meet your taste and budget. Most brands are fiberglass-reinforced, which adds strength and durability to the shingle.
Architectural or dimensional shingles are a very popular choice in roofing. They offer a deep, accented look, similar to a cedar shake roof, that gives your home a look of distinction and class. There are many different styles and colors available. Three-tab shingles are also available upon request.
Flashing and Ventilation
Proper ventilation plays a critical role in determining the overall effectiveness of your attic space. Improper roof and soffit ventilation can cause ice dams, condensation and interior leakage, especially during freeze-thaw cycles.
Guidelines for Roof Ventilation:
As a general rule, one square foot of net free vent area per 300 square feet of attic floor or area to be vented is recommended.
- In the situation in which no vapor retarder is used and proper distribution of undereave and ridge vents cannot be achieved, one square foot of net free vent area should be provided for each 150 square feet of attic floor or area to be vented.
- For a balanced system, ventilation should be equal at the undereave and ridge.
- In cases where a balanced system cannot be achieved, always provide more than 50% of the
total required ventilation at the undereave and the remainder at the upper portion of the roof.
Snow Removal and Gutter Cleaning
Advanced Roofing Specialists offers snow removal from the eaves on your roof. A day or two after a big snow the snow should be removed from around the eaves of your roof. The snow can cause ice to build up, and cause a dam, and eventually cause leaks in your roof. Advanced Roofing Specialists can remove that snow for you. Prices vary from house to house depending on size, and pitch of the roof. We will be there a day or two after it snows to remove any snow that would cause a problem.
Advanced Roofing Specialists also offers gutter cleaning. If you feel that your gutters are clogged, or overflowing, give us a call and we can have them cleaned before the next rain. We will make sure your downspouts and your gutters are clean, and we will also make sure they are pitched right to have the right amount of water flow.

analysis and assessment experts in place for this exact purpose. Our specialists are trained experts in problem analysis and repair procedures. These skills are required in order to pinpoint problem areas and properly fix them.
